The community is invited to the 18th Annual Crab Feed hosted by St. Stephen CME Church on Saturday, January 11, 2020. The event takes place at the Ulatis Community Center, 1000 Ulatis Drive, Vacaville. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

The crab feed supports the church’s charitable efforts in the community, including scholarship awards for high school graduates, food donations to feed low income families, and seminars that educate the community to address social issues such as education, health, nutrition, and special topics of interest to senior adults.

The family-friendly festivities include a meal of delicious crab, entertainment, raffle drawings and a silent auction. Sponsor opportunities are available. Donations may be tax deductible under the church’s tax-exempt designation as a 501 (c) (3) organization.

Rev. Dr. David C. Isom has served as Senior Pastor for the past 12 years. The church celebrated its 51st anniversary in March. Pastor Isom and First Lady, Mrs. Stephanie J. Isom, have brought exciting energy to the church family by moving beyond the ‘Four Walls of the Church’ to serve the community of Fairfield. Tremendous emphasis is placed on the Children, Youth and Young Adult Ministries. The music ministry includes five choirs, the Youth and Young Adult Choir, Senior Choir, Missionary Mass Choir, Male Chorus, and Mass Choir. The church offers Scouting for boys and girls, and the “Feed My Sheep” Outreach Ministry distributes food twice per month to the less fortunate feeding an average of 150 families each month and distributing hundreds of Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets each year. Numerous workshops and seminars are held to provide seniors with important information on nutrition, health and wellness, and financial planning. Annual church events include a community picnic, Classic Car and Family Festival, and special observance programs such as Black History month, Easter and Christmas. Sunday School is held at 9 a.m. and the worship service begins at 10 a.m. More information can be found at www.ststephencmechurch.org, Facebook and Twitter.
