Suisun City Celebrates Replacement Of Aging Marina Fuel Dock
City officials say attracting boaters brings revenue. The new system allows boaters to fuel up 24 hours a day by credit card.
SUISUN CITY, CA — Suisun City staff celebrated the completion Tuesday of a project to replace the city's marine fuel system. The project included replacement of the regular and diesel fuel dispensers, fuel lines and fittings, and credit card reader, as well as testing the system and connecting to the software management system.
"Our original system was over twenty years old and in major need of updating," said Kris Lofthus, director of Parks Recreation and Marina for the city. "A customer previously needed to find a marina worker to turn on the fuel system, so it was only available during working hours. Our new system will allow boaters to fuel up 24 hours a day by credit card."
City Manager Greg Folsom said having a full-service marina with fuel is important to revitalizing the downtown area.

"Attracting boaters to our marina brings revenue from the gas sales, but also brings potential customers who might want to stay for a meal in one of our restaurants, or who may want to buy products or services from one of our other businesses downtown," Folsom said.
The Suisun City Marina has 160 rental berthing slips and a 300-foot guest dock, with boat launch ramps at the south end of the marina. Visiting boaters and guests can direct their questions to the Harbor Master at 707-429-2628(BOAT). The Harbormaster building is located at 800 Kellogg St.
