Suisun City Implements Nixle, Citizen RIMS

"Nixle notifications have saved lives in other communities, but we can only reach you if you sign up."

SUISUN CITY, CA — Suisun City is now using Nixle, a move made in response to growing concerns from citizens about being alerted about emergency situations, such as fires and floods, city officials announced Thursday in news release.

The use of Nixle to builds on the city's Community Notification System so residents can be alerted in real-time for localized emergency situations and relevant community advisories.

"I highly encourage all Suisun City residents to sign up for Nixle notifications so that we can keep you informed in the event of an emergency or important advisory," said City Manager Greg Folsom. "Nixle notifications have saved lives in other communities, but we can only reach you if you sign up."
