Vanden High School Reopens After Threat Found Not Credible

There will be an increased police presence for the rest of the week at the school located at 2951 Markeley Lane, Travis Unified said.

FAIRFIELD, CA — Vanden High School in Fairfield reopened Thursday after school officials and Fairfield police determined a threat that closed the school Wednesday was not credible, according to the Travis Unified School District.

Neither school district officials nor Fairfield police have disclosed information about the threat of violence against the school, but the district said there is no connection between vandalism containing racial slurs earlier this month and the school threat.

The graffiti was at baseball and softball fields and parking areas. The school district apologized Friday when some of the graffiti was not completely removed and remained visible.
