Workshops For High Blood Pressure, Heart, Respiratory Illnesses Coming Up From Solano Public Health

The free series begins July 14 and runs for five weeks on Thursdays.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Suisun City Library will host a free Healthier Living workshop series on Thursdays starting in July.

Adults with chronic conditions including high blood pressure, heart and respiratory diseases, are invited to attend five, weekly workshops from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 14 through August 18 at Suisun City Library, 601 Pintail Dr., Suisun.

The free, interactive workshop is designed to improve quality of life for individuals with chronic health conditions ranging from arthritis to depression. Participants create an action plan to set goals, learn ways to better manage their health, increase mobility and manage pain, stress and anxiety.

Developed in the 1990s by Stanford University, Healthier Living has proven highly effective in helping adults increase their capacity to exercise safely, lose weight, improve eating habits and succeed in controlling their chronic conditions including high blood pressure and diabetes.
