3.4M Earthquake Rattles Coachella Valley

The temblor was centered about 9 miles northeast of Indio.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — An earthquake rattled the Coachella Valley Tuesday afternoon, but there were no reports of injuries or serious damage.

The temblor, which measured a magnitude 3.4, struck at 1:35 p.m., about 9 miles northeast of Indio, according to the U.S. Geological Society.

The quake was not felt outside of the Coachella Valley, according to the USGS reporting map.
