3 Pedestrians Struck Crossing Temecula Street: Sheriff's Department

A driver collided with a group near Moraga Road and Margarita Road overnight sending three to the hospital, two with serious injuries.

TEMECULA, CA ? Three people were struck by a car on Margarita Road near Temecula Elementary School Tuesday night, officials said.

Two suffered serious injuries and a third suffered minor injuries in the crash and all were taken by ground to a nearby hospital, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire spokesperson Rob Roseen told Patch.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., emergency responders arrived at the area of Margarita Road and Paseo Brillante, where a car struck a person crossing the road.

"The driver remained at the scene, and the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries," Sgt. Deirdre Vickers said. "The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are available at this time."

Both Margarita Road between Moraga and Stonewood was closed for two hours after the incident for investigation and cleanup from the crash.
