6 Temecula Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

Here are a few worthy nonprofits to support this year on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024.

TEMECULA, CA ? If you're like many of your Temecula neighbors, you will spend much of your holiday season shopping and buying gifts for family and friends. Still, on Giving Tuesday, you can swipe that credit card toward these worthy nonprofits and give back to your local community.

Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.

Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits in the Temecula area, which fill gaps and meet other needs for the needy.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:

  • Assistance League of the Temecula Valley is an all-volunteer-run nonprofit organization in Southwest Riverside County. Volunteers serve the needs of the Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, and Romoland communities through eight community-based philanthropic programs: Operation School Bell, Operation Foster Youth, Operation Scholarships, Operation Bear Hug, and more.
  • Charity for Charity, a wish-fulfilling organization, raises funds for individuals and families facing life-threatening illnesses or traumatic injuries. The organization focuses on three families a year and does its best to fulfill their dreams and wishes. Each family is celebrated at the annual Stars of the Valley gala event.
  • The Duck Sanctuary has a new home for its ducks, geese, swans, peahens, pigeons, chickens, roosters, and turkeys. This nonprofit cares explicitly for all types of fowl and recently moved to a new location in Anza. From boots-on-the-ground volunteer work to donations, consider helping the Duck Sanctuary grow.   • Michelle's Place Cancer Resource Center serves individuals and families impacted by cancer in San Bernardino, Riverside and North San Diego Counties. All services and programs are available to clients at no cost, for anyone needing comfort, support, and hope.
  • Sale Ranch Animal Sanctuary rescues farm animals and educates the public on the importance of providing for and caring for all species, from goats to cows, sheep to pigs, turkeys, roosters, and more. They also go beyond providing a safe haven by maintaining a regenerative garden.
  • Rose Again Foundation is dedicated to serving foster children and families in Southwest Riverside County. Their programs provide gap-services that enable both our foster youth and families to thrive.
