Average Gas Price Near Temecula Holds Steady

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County was unchanged Friday for the second consecutive day following a six-day streak of increases.

The average price of $3.686 is 4.2 cents more than one week ago and 8.3 cents higher than one year ago but 16.2 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose 5.4 cents during the streak, which followed a run of 37 decreases in 38 days totaling 35.1 cents, dropping the average price to its lowest amount since April 3.

A 5.6-cent per gallon tax increase for road and mass transit programs went into effect Monday.
