Car Strikes Tree In Temecula, Leading To Full Road Closure, 1 Injured

TEMECULA, CA ? An early morning collision in Temecula led to a temporary road closure near Meadows Parkway and De Portola Road, officials say.
Shortly before 6 a.m., three vehicles heading southbound on Meadows Parkway collided. One of them?believed to be the Kia pictured below?struck a pine tree in the median on southbound Meadows Parkway, completely disabling the vehicle. A third vehicle was also involved, according to the sheriff's department.

A Tesla also suffered driver-side damage, and airbags were deployed in the crash. The third car was not towed from the scene.

According to Riverside County Sheriff's deputies, officers have thoroughly investigated the area.
One driver was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries by AMR Ambulance, according to Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez.

"The cause of the collision is under investigation, although drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor," she said. "No arrests were made as a result of the collision."
