CHP Made 17 Temecula DUI Arrests Over Holiday Weekend
Six injury and 10 non-injury traffic collisions were also logged.

More than a dozen motorists were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and hundreds of traffic citations were issued by Temecula- based California Highway Patrol officers during a Memorial Day weekend crackdown, authorities said today.
The CHP’s “maximum enforcement period,” during which all available officers are deployed to snare traffic violators, began at 6 p.m. Friday and concluded at 11:59 p.m. Monday.

In the Temecula area, officers arrested 17 people on suspicion of DUI, compared to 20 arrests during the 2014 Memorial Day weekend MEP, said Officer Mike Lassig.
He said six injury and 10 non-injury traffic collisions were logged. In 2014, there were 16 injury crashes and two non-injury wrecks to which Temecula- based CHP officers responded.

According to Lassig, officers handed out 300 tickets over the holiday weekend, while in 2014, 275 citations were issued.
