Join the City of Temecula as we celebrate freedom and perseverance with an inaugural Juneteenth Celebration virtually, hosted by the Community Services Department from Saturday, June 19 – Monday, July 19, 2021 at TemeculaCA.gov/Juneteenth.

This free, virtual experience explores the historical journey of freedom for people around the globe marking the legal end of slavery on June 19, 1865 in Galveston, Texas.  Celebrate African-American achievements and connect with black-owned businesses here in Temecula.  Support participating businesses by accessing special JUNE19 discounts.  Cultivate new friendships and community while connecting with family and friends to reflect on the past, and look toward our future this Juneteenth in Temecula.

Temecula Mayor Maryann Edwards stated, “Juneteenth celebrations represent opportunities to remember and reflect on the landmark date of June 19, 1865, when the official end of slavery was announced in Galveston, Texas.  Juneteenth is celebrated annually to commemorate this historic moment and the long journey to freedom.  All are welcome and the City of Temecula looks forward to celebrating together as a community in person beginning in 2022.”
