Convicted Felon, Woman Found With Handgun Stolen Out Of Temecula

Kevin Dylan Demarco and Maxine Renee Gastelum were taken into custody on a slew of weapons and drug violations, jail records show.

HEMET, CA — When sheriff's gang task force members did a vehicle check last week in Hemet, the officers discovered a man, a woman, drugs and a handgun stolen out of Temecula, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported Wednesday.

During the vehicle check at 9:04 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of West Florida Avenue, the task force members found Kevin Dylan Demarco, 30, and Maxine Renee Gastelum, 31, in possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun, over 9 ounces of methamphetamine, $1,343 in cash, and items "indicative of drug sales," according to sheriff's Sgt. Ian Baily.

The gun was stolen out of Temecula, although the owner had yet to report it, according to Baily.

Demarco, a convicted felon, had a warrant out for his arrest.

Both Demarco and Gastelum were taken into custody on a slew of weapons and drug violations, jail records show.

Demarco was being held at Southwest Detention with no bail set; Gastelum was being held at Robert Presley Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Both were due in court Wednesday, according to jail records.
