Every week, the city will serve between 240 and 360 meals on a first-come, first-served basis until meals run out.
“The Summer Food Service Program was launched in an effort to provide nutritious meals to children who typically receive free or reduced meals while school is out of session,” said Community Services Manager Yvonne Martinez. “Temecula seeks to provide opportunities to continue a child’s physical and social development while providing nutritious meals during vacation periods from school.”

The meals are funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, as part of its Summer Food Service Program, which ensures meals for children while school is out of session.
Temecula Valley Unified School District is also providing meals for elementary, middle and high school students in its summer school programs, feeding approximately 500 students per day.
