Gas Leak Prompts Evacuations In Temecula

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

TEMECULA, CA ? A gas leak Wednesday morning in a residential Temecula neighborhood forced evacuations but no injuries were reported.

The incident was reported at 9:35 a.m. at Alcoba Drive and Bonita Mesa Street, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department which was called to the scene along with SoCalGas.

Five homes were evacuated as a precaution, the fire department reported.

Firefighters remained at the scene for approximately two hours while gas company crews worked to mitigate the leak.

There was no word on what caused the leak.
