Jardin Fire Near Temecula Continues To Burn

The fire erupted last Saturday in De Luz, a community west of Temecula.

TEMECULA, CA -- A brush fire west of Temecula entered its third day Monday. The Jardin Fire in the community of De Luz was 10 acres and 85 percent contained, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The fire was first reported at 3:29 p.m. last Saturday, prompting the response of more than 160 firefighters, three helicopters and three air tankers.

Fire officials said no one has been injured in the blaze and no structures were threatened.

The fire is one of several brush fires to erupt in Southern California over the weekend.

The Aliso Fire burned hundreds of acres between Aliso Viejo and Laguna Beach, forcing the evacuation of thousands of homes. In San Diego, a fire erupted near San Diego State University, prompting the closure of the busy Interstate 8 and forcing the evacuation of dozens of homes.
