Man Jumps Off I-15 Overpass In Temecula

The California Highway Patrol says he was taken to the hospital.

TEMECULA, CA — A man jumped from a freeway overpass in Temecula on Friday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reports. The unidentified person survived the impact.

According to CHP reports, the incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 15, just north of Winchester Road.

CHP Officer Mike Lassig tells Patch that a 22-year-old man "jumped from the Winchester overcrossing" and he landed on a dirt area of the I-15 center divider.

The man was rushed to the hospital with complaint of pain to his back and legs.

The scene was cleared by around 2 p.m.
