Old Town Temecula Cops Find Loaded Gun During Traffic Stop

Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Old Town police officers pulled over a possibly impaired driver over the weekend and found this.

TEMECULA, CA ? Southwest Sheriff's Station metro deputies took a suspected DUI driver off the streets in Old Town over the weekend and discovered a loaded, unregistered gun in the process, authorities say.

Scott Lee Allen, 32 of Globe, Arizona, was arrested on pending felony charges of carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm, jail records show.

Just after 1 a.m. Saturday two Southwest Sheriff's Station deputies pulled over Allen as he drove a large white Dodge Ram pickup through Old Town. During the traffic stop, the officers found Allen was "carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm," according to a report from the station.

Photos from the arrest show officers collected an unregistered Kahr handgun with a fully loaded magazine and approximately 27 additional rounds of ammunition.

According to jail records, Allen was released on a $150,000 bond.
