Serious Injuries Reported In Wreck East Of Temecula
Multiple victims in the Anza-area crash were rushed to the hospital by helicopter, the fire department reports.
ANZA, CA — Four people were injured -- three seriously -- in a three- vehicle collision Friday on Highway 371 in Anza. The crash happened about 2 p.m. on the eastbound side of the highway, near Cary Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said a full-size van and a Toyota Tacoma pickup impacted, causing the latter to overturn. A sedan was also involved in the crash, but the specific circumstances were not immediately available.
Riverside County Fire Department personnel arrived within 15 minutes and found an occupant of the van trapped, suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to reports from the scene.

The other three patients were out of the vehicles.
Crews extricated the victim from the van at 2:45 p.m. A Mercy Air helicopter transported the person to a trauma center.

Two other victims with major injuries, including a man with broken legs, also required air ambulances, according to the fire department.
The fourth injured person was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with unknown injuries.
The highway was partially shut down because of the wreck, which remains under investigation.
