Temecula Parents - Check Out These Free Summer Events for Kids

Promenade Temecula is kicking off summer with another exciting season of Promenade Pals kids club events, offering free weekly activities that entertain, build imagination and educate children ages 3 -10.

The free event series will start with a tropical-bang, as the Promenade Pals host a Caribbean-themed summer celebration and craft event on Wednesday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m.

“Our summer kids club program is a wonderful way for local families to enjoy free activities while keeping kids active over the summer break,” says Kym Espinosa, Director of Marketing for Promenade Temecula. “The fun-filled events cultivate learning while also keeping kids entertained, which every parent knows can sometimes be a difficult task outside of the school year!”

As part of the summer fun, Promenade Pals will also be hosting a “Search and Find Hello Kitty” scavenger hunt each Wednesday during the kids club’s meetings. During this fun element of the weekly events, kids will be invited to search Promenade Temecula for Hello Kitty, who will be hiding in a different location in the mall each week for kids to find. Once located, parents are invited to take a photo of Hello Kitty for their child, which the child can then show at the Promenade Temecula SANRIO store in order to receive a special trading button to tack onto their Promenade Pals apron. Seven different buttons will be available for kids to collect throughout the summer, one for each Promenade Pals event.

Kicking off Wednesday, June 17, the Promenade Pals kids club will meet every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., through Wednesday, August 5 (except July 1).

Promenade Pals Summer Events:

Caribbean Celebration and Custom Kite Craft on June 17 – Kids in attendance will have the opportunity to make custom kites, receive a Promenade Pals apron, play games and enjoy Kona Shaved Ice at this event.

Birds of a Feather on June 24 – Kids will be invited to build and decorate a birdhouse that can be hung in their favorite tree at home, as well as make a special treat for the birds to enjoy.

A Dog’on Dandy Bandanna Project on July 8 – At this special event, children will be invited to make matching bandanas for both themselves and their pups to wear! Parents are also encouraged to take a photo of their family pooch with the bandana on, and email it to Lazy Dog Restaurant at ldctem@lazydogrestaurant.com to be featured on their monitors.

Knot Your Average Day at the Mall on July 15 – Wetzel’s Pretzels bakers will be on hand to help little ones create a unique and delicious masterpiece, by twisting and shaping their very own pretzel, which they can then take home to bake and enjoy!

Set Sail with Summer Sales on July 22 – Kids will have fun using water colors to paint their own sail boat as mom and dad make their way through the mall to shop the Summer Sales.

Mask Madness on July 29 – Kids will be invited to discover their alter egos, with a fun crafting event where they can create their very own masks.

Glitter and Glow on August 5 – At this event, children will become mad scientists, creating their very own slime that will glitter, glow and grow!

More Summer Fun – Edwards Cinemas Summer Movie Express

For even more fun and affordable summer entertainment for families, the Edwards Cinemas annual Summer Movie Express has also kicked off at Promenade Temecula.

The Summer Movie Express offers discounted movies to families, playing every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the summer, starting at 10:00 a.m. Admission to Summer Movie Express films is only $1 per person, with a portion of the proceeds goes to the Will Rogers Institute. This special promotion runs for nine weeks, through August 5 and features some of today’s top family blockbusters.
