TEMECULA, CA ? Riverside County Sheriff's Department Southwest Station deputies are investigating a Halloween night altercation where a teenage boy was knocked out by a group of juveniles in the Harveston Lake area.

Shortly before 9 p.m., deputies responded to the 29000 block of Lake House Road in Temecula. Deputies spoke with both the juvenile victim, who was attacked, and his parent, who later took him to the hospital for evaluation and treatment, Sgt. Robert Martinez told Patch.

Numerous videos from the scene were shared with police, who say that the investigation into the attack is ongoing. No additional information was immediately available; however, the boy's mother spoke with Patch about the incident.

Mother Iris Ma says that her 15-year-old son was "knocked out cold on Halloween night around 9:30 p.m. in front of the Harveston minimart. Friends were with him," she said. Others who witnessed the scene chased off the offending attackers, according to posts on Social Media.

But what Ma wants is answers.

"We will be monitoring (my son) for the next two weeks," she said. "His friend is still traumatized," but what she wants is to thank a parent who broke up the fight.

"Thank God for that parent who saved him," she said. That intervention kept him from getting seriously hurt during the incident.

Video footage from the incident showed a number of parents in the area on Halloween night, but one specifically intervened and broke up the one-sided fight, she said.

"I just want to find out the kids that knocked my son unconscious, and learn who the heroes are that saved him, so that I can thank them."

While a separate incident took place nearby in Murrieta hours later, according to Martinez, investigators do not believe the two assaults are related.
