TVUSD Middle School Calls Deputies To Incident Amid Weapon Scare

TEMECULA, CA ? Two students fighting on a Temecula Valley Unified School District campus led to a brief investigation by Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies, according to Temecula Middle School Principal Marvin Morton.

At approximately 10 a..m., deputies were called to the Temecula Middle School campus following reports of a possible weapon on campus, Morton told families in a message. Officers quickly determined that there was no credible threat and left the school, he said.

Still, the sight of that many squad cars in the school parking area had families wondering what had happened.

According to Morton's letter to parents, two students caught fighting on campus were brought to the office. "One of the students made reference to a weapon, so the police were called," he said. "Temecula deputies arrived quickly in support of the situation."

Upon arrival, deputies determined there was no weapon or credible threat to the campus, students, or staff. No arrests were made, and no one was injured during the incident, according to officials.

"We were never in danger," Morton said. "We appreciate the amazing support from law enforcement."
