SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA ? Two men sought in a deputy-involved shooting out of Wildomar were captured Sunday night in the Temecula area, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The two were wanted following the deputy-involved shooting incident that began shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday in the area of Cervera and Prairie roads in Wildomar when a Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station deputy spotted a reported stolen vehicle, according to the law enforcement agency.

The deputy tried to pull the driver over but the suspect made a U-turn and "intentionally drove into the driver?s side door of the deputy?s vehicle and a deputy-involved shooting occurred," the sheriff's department reported.

The patrol vehicle became disabled as a result of the crash. The driver and his passenger fled on foot, ran to a silver Chevy Impala parked nearby, and made a getaway, according to the department.

Descriptions of the suspects and vehicle were released. Shortly before 5 p.m. Sunday, the two men ? one described as being in his late 20s and the other as 30 years old ? were found in the Temecula area.

The duo again tried to evade deputies. A police chase began and when the two suspects hopped out of the vehicle and tried to make a run for it, they were captured, according to the sheriff's department.

The deputies involved in the Temecula chase were not hurt but the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station deputy who fired on the suspects earlier in the day sustained minor injuries during the incident, the law enforcement agency reported.

Anyone with information about the incidents was asked to contact the sheriff's dispatch at 951-776-1099.
