1st Annual Zumba Fundraiser for Special Olympics

Friends, family, fun and fundraising!

This past Sunday, 8 Licensed Zumba Instructors came together to be a part of an amazing fundraiser benefitting Special Olympics Southern California, Inland Empire.

The event, coordinated by Temecula resident & Zumba Instructor Mimi Wright, was hosted at West Coast Krav Maga-Temecula.

The additional instructors, Dionne Thomas, Reina Gray, Joanna Andaleon, Cris DeGuzman, Diane Yuskin, Patricia Boissy and Lisa Dubose came from as far as Oceanside to donate their talents in support of the organization.

Vendors, Tricia Menzies from The OIL WELL, Collette Zelesnikar from Everyday Sparkle and Chris DeGuzman, owner of Cris Zumba Wear each donated gifts for the opportunity drawing.

63 students, including two Special Olympics athletes packed the dance floor for 2 fun filled hours, dancing to energetic Zumba rhythms including, Salsa, Soca, Reggae, Samba, Merengue, Mambo, and Pop.

The event raised $1,150 for SOSC and will provide sports programs to local athletes all year long.

Special Olympics Inland Empire enriches the lives of more than 1,600 athletes with intellectual disabilities and their communities through sports, education, and athlete health. Special Olympics Inland Empire is one of nine regional programs of Special Olympics Southern California and offers year-round sports training and competitions for athletes in all of Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
