Filling Up Packs A Punch For Trabuco Canyon Drivers
It's costing more and more to fill up the tank, according to recent reports, with gas prices almost 50-cents higher than this time last year

TRABUCO CANYON, CA — Do you top off the tank, or let the needle get down to E? Drivers across the southland are struggling with the rising costs of gasoline. The cost of a regular gallon of unleaded gasoline is 16-cents higher than last month, according to the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
“Motorist have been spoiled the past few years with inexpensive gas prices,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson. “We expect prices to continue increasing, potentially another 10 cents, through Memorial Day and then will likely stabilize during the summer, with the understanding that if demand spikes, prices are likely to follow.”
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose four-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $3.67, its highest amount since Aug. 25, 2015.

The average price is 2.4 cents more than one week ago, 9.8 cents higher than one month ago and 65.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 52 cents since the start of the year.
The average price rose 18 times in 19 days, was unchanged Monday and resumed increasing on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent Wednesday to $3.628, its highest amount since Aug. 24, 2015.
The Orange County average price has increased 21 of the past 22 days, rising 9 cents, including two-tenths of a cent on both Monday and Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 2.1 cents more than one week ago, 9.9 cents higher than one month ago and 62.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 51.2 cents since the start of the year.
