TRABUCO CANYON, CA — C amp Pendleton Fire Department is hosting its annual Fire School aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton this week, and part of the training includes exercises through Friday.

As a result, smoke may be visible throughout the week at various times, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., emanating from the northern, northeastern, and center areas of base.

Smoke may be seen or smelled in the areas of San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Ortega Highway, Trabuco Canyon, as well as Dana Point and Laguna Niguel.

The Orange County Fire Authority, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection will be on hand in case of emergencies, as will the Los Angeles Fire Department, Glendale Fire Department, Brea Fire Department, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, Miramar Fire Department, Carlsbad Fire Department, California's Office of Emergency Services, San Marcos Fire Department, Oceanside Fire Department, and Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District, base officials say.
