Tesoro HS Senior Honored As Semifinalist Artist Of The Year: 2019

Students from across Orange County were chosen as the top semifinalists in the 2019 Artist of the Year in Vocal Music.

TRABUCO CANYON, CA — Hannah Anastasi, a Tesoro High School senior and Trabuco Canyon resident is one of the top finalists in the 2019 Artists of the Year, according to the OC Register.

Anastasi's entry in the contest, "Trampoline," is a cover of the song by SHAED. She is competing in the "commercial voice" category.

In her written entry, she told the Register that singing is something she has always loved to do.

"As I grew stronger in faith and continued in music, it helped me hold on to the good in my life," she said. "It redirected my focus and mindset while anxiety, depression, and disorder tried to take over.”

According to her teacher, Grammy Award winning Teacher of the Year Keith Hancock, “Hannah is truly a captivating performer. Not only does she possess a beautifully unique vocal style, she commands the attention of an audience unlike most pop singers.”

The Artists of the Year contest is presented by the Orange County Register in partnership with the Orange County Department of Education, Segerstrom Center For the Arts, Orange County Music and Dance, and the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University.

The 2019 Artists of the Year will be announced April 21.
