Trabuco Bicyclist Dies Weeks After Rancho Santa Margarita Crash
The Trabuco Canyon rider, struck in mid-December while riding through Rancho Santa Margarita, succumbed to his injuries on New Year's Day.

TRABUCO CANYON, CA —A Trabuco Canyon man died after being struck while riding his bicycle in mid-December, Authorities said. Chandler Espinosa, 25, was initially injured by a vehicle while riding on a street in Rancho Santa Margarita. Espinosa died Tuesday at the hospital, according to the Orange County coroner's office.
"Espinoza was hit just before 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 15 and was taken to Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo. He remained at the hospital until his New Year's Day death, some 17 days later, at 5:05 p.m.," the coroner's office said.
There was no update as to whether the driver was cited, as of this report.
