Trabuco Canyon Area Gust Totals: Winds Blast Orange County

TRABUCO CANYON, CA — The National Weather Service recorded wind gusts across Orange County at up to 60 miles per hour in some areas on Monday morning. Sustained breezes led to toppled trees, downed power lines that disrupted power to over 16,000 residents and resulted in one fatality in Tustin when a eucalyptus tree was toppled and crushed a woman inside of her car.

The red flag warning continued until 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the NWS. Humidity was recorded at no higher than 10-percent. Winds were slated to decrease Wednesday and Thursday as humidity returns to the area.

Monday's wind gust location, speed, time, date and elevations were recorded for the Orange County area and are listed below. The highest wind speeds for our area were located 8 miles southwest of Corona, at 66 miles per hour and five miles east-northeast of Mission Viejo at 60 miles per hour.
