TRABUCO CANYON, CA — A torrential and consistent downpour most of Thursday brought down charred soil, ash and downed trees into the roadways of inland Orange County. None was so dramatic as at Trabuco Creek bridge, where huge logs and rocks rolled into the road making it impossible for drivers to traverse.
Orange County Public Works crews have been hard at work to clear ash-laden mud and debris from the lanes. While some roads were expected to reopen by noon, Friday there is "no timeline" yet established for the reopening of Trabuco Canyon Bridge, OC Public Works have said.
Engineers must first make sure there is no damage to the structure, and new guard rails still need to be put into place, according to reports from the scene.
