4-Car Crash Blocks I-680 Ramp Near Walnut Creek
A four-car crash caused minor injuries and was blocking the Interstate 280 off-ramp near Walnut Creek Monday afternoon.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A four-car crash on the Interstate 680 off-ramp north of Walnut Creek Monday afternoon blocked the roadway and left at least one person with minor injuries, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
The crash was reported around 5:13 p.m. on the southbound I-680 ramp at Monument Boulevard. A Lexus, a Toyota, a Chevrolet Tahoe and a Volkswagen were all involved, according to CHP logs.
The cars ended up in a ditch on the right side of the roadway after the collision, which also left shards of glass on the off-ramp. A responding firetruck blocked the off-ramp around 5:26 p.m., and a tow service was called shortly afterward, the CHP logs showed.

Crews were still working to clear the scene as of 6 p.m.
