WALNUT CREEK, CA — Walnut Creek City Manager Dan Buckshi and Mayor Loella Haskew recently took part in a moderated discussion about the "Future of Walnut Creek" hosted by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce and PG&E.

The two city leaders discussed economic trends, noting that Walnut Creek experienced positive momentum in the retail market toward the end of 2023. The duo highlighted traffic safety and efforts to alleviate congestion; spoke on sustainability and environmental stewardship; and about affordable housing — an issue not just limited to the Bay Area.

Other speakers included Police Chief Jamie Knox, who made a presentation on public safety; Brian Hirahara and Kathy Hemmenway from Walnut Creek Downtown; and Angela De La Housaye-Ashley from the Shadelands.
