WALNUT CREEK, CA — Are you a fan of Amy's Kitchen organic frozen meals? If so, you may love Amy’s Kitchen, an all-organic, drive-thru restaurant proposed for development off the corner of Second and N. Main in Walnut Creek.

Architectural renderings for the proposed restaurant were released Wednesday.

Designed as a fast-food restaurant so you can grab-and-go on a busy work day or while ferrying the kids from school to their sports practices and lessons, the restaurant as proposed includes a sunken drive-thru lane accessible from the center of the parking lot to avoid back up. It will be covered with solar panels to help power the facility.

The solar panels aren't the only environmentally friendly feature — it will also have a living roof like the one on the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. Amy’s plans to seek LEED certification for the building. All food packaging will be compostable.

If you have time to sit down for a meal, the restaurant will have inside seating as well as a garden exterior with patio seating.

The menu includes casual fare, like veggie burgers, shakes, french fries, pizza and burritos. If you have special dietary needs, there will be gluten free and dairy free options.
