Bicyclist Crashes On Secluded Walnut Creek Trail
A bicyclist suffered injuries in a crash in a secluded area of a hiking and bike-riding trail in Walnut Creek Thursday.

WALNUT CREEK - A bicyclist suffered injuries in a crash in a secluded area of a hiking and bike-riding trail in Walnut Creek Thursday, according to a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District captain.
A call came in at 11:14 a.m. about a woman who had crashed on her bike about a half-mile into a trail in the Lime Ridge Open Space, Capt. Lisa Martinez said.
Fire crews had to follow the reporting party's directions to find the woman on the trail, which was not easily accessible, Martinez said.

Crews eventually arrived at 11:27 a.m., Martinez said.
A request for a medical helicopter was canceled when responding crews were able to load the woman into an ambulance for transport to a hospital.

Martinez was not immediately able to say what the extent of the woman's injuries was.
