The Bay Area Music Consortium (BAMC) presents A Celebration of Musicians Around the Bay, a virtual showcase of the extraordinary talent and diversity of our treasured Bay Area artists who have been heavily impacted by COVID-19. From Quinteto Latino’s brilliant blend of performance and advocacy, to the deeply expressive Indian music of Alam Khan, to the cutting-edge Friction Quartet and the next generation of brilliant classical talent, Stars Aligned Siblings, this concert is an opportunity to gather together from all corners of the Bay Area and celebrate these trailblazing performers and composers whom we miss experiencing live!
PROGRAM: “A Celebration of Musicians Around the Bay” featuring:
· Quinteto Latino, a wind quintet that focuses on the music of Latin American composers, presenting a newly commissioned work by Gabriela Lena Frank

· Alam Khan, from the Ali Akbar College of Music in San Rafael, performing a raga in the Indian classical tradition, on the sarod
· Friction Quartet, a string quartet known for expanding the string quartet repertoire, featuring works by Bay Area composers Nicolas Benavides and Mario Godoy

· Stars Aligned Siblings, an award-winning string quartet of siblings ranging in age from 8 to 14, playing a piece by African American composer Florence Price
WHEN: Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) through midnight on April 18, 2021
MEET AND GREET: Audience to meet artists for a virtual reception after the first airing of the concert on April 10

DONATIONS: Audience members may use our “donate” button during the concert. All donations will be shared equally by the musicians.
About the Bay Area Music Consortium
Now in our third season, the Bay Area Music Consortium (BAMC) is a partnership between four distinct organizations dedicated to presenting the finest in chamber music experiences: Berkeley Chamber Performances, Gold Coast Chamber Players (Lafayette), Mill Valley Chamber Music Society, and Noe Music (San Francisco).
Like the members of a chamber music ensemble, BAMC members all bring their own unique presence to provide invigorating concert experiences to a wider audience.
With the synergy of combined resources, collective planning and a shared artistic vision, the Bay Area Music Consortium is uniquely positioned to present outstanding performing ensembles, enriching the Bay Area’s cultural life.
