For the past 4 years, Contra Costa Christian Schools (CCCS) has used Giving Tuesday as a day to raise funds to improve facilities and programs. We call this our “Imagination to Reality” Campaign. Last year, we raised more than $60,000, which was $15,000 over our goal!
We have completed a number of improvements with those funds, including the purchase of a ceramic kiln, iPads in all elementary classrooms, safety locks on all classrooms, new science equipment, basketball goals, new athletic uniforms, and 21st century classroom furniture.
CCCS has been blessed beyond our imagination with donations that have been raised for this campaign that every year we, as a school, have also given back to other charitable organizations. Last year, we were able to help a school that had been affected by the Santa Rosa fires. This year, we are giving our students from preschool to 12th grade a choice of four organizations to which to donate: World Renew, San Francisco City Impact, Samaritan’s Purse - Operation Christmas Child, and Wycliffe. As each class decides where to spend its $100, it sparks some great discussion and a generosity that often carries on beyond the simple donation.

This year, our goal is to raise $52,000. We are excited about Giving Tuesday (November 27) as we realize, more than anything, how faithful our God is and how generous our community is. In the midst of this busy season, we are thankful for this opportunity to serve others.
