Crash Victim Identified: Walnut Creek Man Killed On I-680

WALNUT CREEK, CA — The county coroner's office has identified 20-year-old Samuel Zavala of Walnut Creek as the victim of a crash on I-680 in Sunol.

The crash was reported just before 4:30 a.m. last Thursday morning, on southbound 680 north of Koopman Road.

Zavala was ejected from his Toyota in a single vehicle rollover crash. He was rushed to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where he died of injuries, according to the CHP.
