A smash-and-grab from a car on Lacassie Ave. resulted in the loss of a laptop, an iPod, and a check for $2,000.
A white male adult in his early 30s jumped on a bus and punched the driver, before running off to the library. He was gone by the time police arrived.

A citizens arrest nabbed five suspects were arrested on Locust St. after all of them were involved in a fight.
For some reason, a witness thought that two men in a screaming match with each other over gas at a N. Main St. gas station were drug dealers with guns. Turns out it was just two guys screaming at each other at a gas station.

It was 1:00 a.m. on Stratton Ct. when police arrived to check on why a resident’s dogs were running in and out of the doggie door and barking, disturbing at least one of the neighbors. The object of the canine exuberance was a skunk, who left the scene of the crime as the cops pulled up.
A 26-year-old man was arrested a few minutes later on Locust St. for assault and resisting arrest. The skunk was clearly the wiser of the two.
Some person or persons thought it was very important to decorate the Indian Valley Elementary School on Marshall Dr. with lots of offensive graffiti. Not that there is any other kind.
A would-be burglar hit a homeowner on the head with a baseball bat as he was caught in the garage of a home on the 1800 block of Sunnyvale Ave. The suspect then ran away and police were unable to find him. The victim’s condition is unknown.

A man in a white pickup truck on Newell Hill Place was reported yelling at women, cursing, and spitting. While that is no doubt extremely appealing to the opposite sex, the suave fellow had departed for other locales by the time police arrived.
Two laptops were stolen during a smash-and-grab on N. Main St.
A dog owner on San Juan Ave. was arrested or assault after her dog bit another woman.
Someone reported a man and woman getting, um, really, really friendly in a car parked in a N. Main St. parking lot in the wee hours of the morning. Police arrived and discovered the couple were just talking. Relief or letdown?

Police received a call from an employer seeking advice on how to handle an employee stealing wallets from other employees. How about advising the ex-employee that the police are on their way?
A woman in a different office reported that her wallet was also stolen. She lost $50 and her ID.
A woman was cited for possession of concentrated cannabis and a man was arrested for being drunk in public and possession of concentrated cannabis on the 900 block of Ygnacio Valley Rd. after a witness reported that they were in a very heated conversation that went on at least 20 minutes.

Someone used a false ID to purchase a used BMW from a dealer on N. Main St. It took over a month for the crime to be recognized.
Three black female adults in their 20s used teamwork to steal $400 worth of jeans at Broadway Plaza. While two women were speaking with staff, a third grabbed four pairs of jeans and ran out of the store, with the other two close behind.
Skip this item if you have a weak stomach: a restaurant employee on the 1200 block of N. Main St. reported a homeless man spitting in the salad at the salad bar. The man was arrested and charged with vandalism. More like disgustingism, I would say.
A black male in his 20s was reported going door to door on the 1500 block of Riveira Dr asking for credit card information. It turned out to be a salesman for the Bay Area News Group selling subscriptions, but with no solicitation permit.

A man checked himself into the Emergency Room at Kaiser Permanente complaining that his friend hit him in the face five times. To virtually no one’s surprise, it was over a woman.
A man told police he was knocked down near the Contra Costa Canal by two men who repeatedly punched him and demanded money. The victim didn’t have any money and the suspects left. Police searched but could not find them.
A homeowner on the 2200 block of Walnut Blvd. reported that four dogs were attacking a deer on his property. He was referred to county Animal Control, who sent a unit to intervene.
A man was arrested for attempted carjacking on the 2900 block of N. Main St.
