Driver Dies In I-680 Rollover Crash In Walnut Creek
All southbound lanes were closed for a time as emergency crews worked at the scene.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A car crashed into a dump truck, rolled, and then smashed into the concrete center wall of southbound Interstate Highway 680 in Walnut Creek early Friday morning. The driver was pronounced dead the the scene. The driver of the dump truck was not injured, according to the California Highway Patrol. He remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The crash happened at Treat Boulevard at 2 a.m. All southbound lanes were closed as emergency crews worked to remove the man from the car, and clear the wreckage.
The driver has been identified as a 38-year-old man from Hayward, although his name has not yet been released.
