Expect Street, Sidewalk Closures In Walnut Creek This Weekend

Certain lanes and sidewalks along Walnut Creek's main thoroughfares will be closed for varying lengths of time beginning this weekend.

WALNUT CREEK - Certain lanes and sidewalks along Walnut Creek's main thoroughfares will be closed for varying lengths of time beginning this weekend, according to the city.

The closures, which are needed for street improvements such as the replacement of curbs and gutters, will affect Oak Grove and Ygnacio Valley roads starting Sunday, according to the city.

Among the scheduled closures is a southbound lane on Oak Grove Road between Shadelands Drive and Ygnacio Valley Road that will last until April 15.

Along that same stretch of road, the sidewalk will be closed until mid-July, city officials said.

On westbound Ygnacio Valley Road, one lane will be closed between Oak Grove Road and North Via Monte through mid-May.

A sidewalk will be closed there within the same timeframe.

City officials said additional work will be done at the intersection of Oak Grove and Ygnacio Valley in the coming months.
