Explosions Shatter Boston Marathon Finish Line

Two explosions shattered the celebrations at the crowded finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday, with authorities carrying off injured spectators and competitors while the stragglers in the race were rerouted away from the finish, according to the Huffington Post.

Reporters on the scene were saying there were dozens of injuries, some of them taken to the regular medical tent at the marathon finish, others being transported by ambulance to Boston hospitals.

At 1:05 p.m. Pacific Time, there were two confirmed deaths, Boston police told CBS News. The cause of the explosions is not clear. Windows were blown out of office buildings in the area.
