Flash Flood Watch Issued For Most Of Bay Area Wednesday: NWS

In addition to the rain that has already fallen, a doozy of a storm is expected on Wednesday.

BAY AREA — The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for most of the Bay Area and Monterey County from Wednesday evening through late Wednesday night as a powerful storm moves through the area.

The NWS warns, "Urban and small stream flooding will become likely along with rapid rises on main stem rivers. Small creeks and streams may rapidly rise near or above bankfull."

The agency is imploring people to take action now to protect their homes and properties. If your home or business is in an area that is prone to flooding, sandbags should be placed today or tomorrow morning. You should also move to higher ground, if necessary.
