Las Trampas Creek Council of PTA's Announces Scholarship Winners

Las Trampas Creek Council (LTCC) is pleased to announce its 2021 High School Scholarship recipients.

Each year, LTCC recognizes up to three deserving high school seniors who attend Las Lomas High School, which is the only high school with a Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) within the LTCC attendance area. The $750 scholarships are awarded in recognition of either exemplary volunteer service or overcoming a personal challenge.

This year's recipients are:

Dani Bier

Dani is a creative person - a dancer, a yearbook staffer and Crafts for a Cause Club member - and has channeled these energies into both her recreational and volunteer activities with National Charity League and Medshare. She finds tremendous meaning in giving back to her community. Dani will be pursuing an Environmental Studies degree at UC Santa Barbara.

Jade Kessinger

Jade is an avid reader, pianist and varsity tennis player who has volunteered with Kiwanis Key Club and the Walnut Creek Library while pursuing a love of science and robotics. Jade credits her
love of reading with teaching her to consider multiple perspectives and keeping her open to opposing beliefs to help find solutions to the problems we face. Jade plans to major in physics at Harvey Mudd College.

Melanie Quan

Melanie is an independent research scientist who has been studying methods to reduce plastic pollution for the past four years. Melanie volunteers as a Sunday school teacher and works as a tutor in addition to being heavily involved in school clubs like: STEM Research, Crafts for a Cause and UNICEF. Melanie plans to attend a four-year university. Her top choices are Stanford or MIT.
