Meetings in Walnut Creek this Week: City Council and Design Review

Given the fact that it’s a holiday week, there is a pretty heft calendar of meetings in Walnut Creek this week.

Monday:
Sugarloaf area CERT meeting, 7:30 p.m., Tice Valley Gym.

Tuesday:
City Council Meeting, 7 p.m. Council Chambers, 1666 North Main St.

Among the items on the agenda are:

• The introduction of the new police chief, Tom Chaplin;
• Proclamation for 30th Anniversary of the Walnut Creek Farmers Market;
• Ongoing series of discussions on achieving fiscal sustainability—this time regarding aquatics, and performing and visual arts.

Wednesday:
Design Review Commission, 7 p.m., Council Chambers, 1666 North Main St.

Among the items on the agenda are:

• Renewal of approval for design review of Third Avenue Apartments;
• Design review for landscape alteration for Cambridge Place subdivision/Church of Christ

Thursday:
Free concert by the Walnut Creek Concert Band, 6 p.m., Civic Park near the gazebo.  

Friday:
Animal Staging by HF CERT, 7:30 in the Clubhouse at Bancroft Village. All are welcome.
