Reaching For Independence: Mother's Day Photos

OAKLEY, CA — Whether it's through their personality, looks, hobbies or a combination of everything, daughters become a reflection of the woman who raised them. With Mother's Day 2018 right around the corner, we are celebrating that special bond by inviting Patch readers across California to share their "mother-daughter lookalike" photos.

Tarra Mendes sent us this photo of herself with daughter Allyson McBroom. This will be a bittersweet Mother's Day for Tarra, "She is graduating from HS in June and heading to Irvine for college in the Fall. I’m going to miss her so much!" Happy Mother's Day, Tarra.
