WALNUT CREEK, CA — May is here. That means that Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) will host its annual Animals on Broadway later this month. The pet walk and free community festival celebrates the human-animal bond.

The event kicks off with a one-mile morning pet walk with individuals and teams raising awareness of and support for ARF’s programs. Additional festivities, beginning at 11 a.m. and lasting until 4 p.m., include pet adoptions, a pet wellness fair, pet products, demonstrations, a best dressed pet contest, raffle prizes, and more. Festival events are designed for all ages of family member, both human and animal.

“This is an incredibly exciting time for ARF as we’re expanding not only our programing but our ability to save more lives through construction of increased animal capacity,” said Elena Bicker, ARF’s executive director. “Our neighbors and friends always motivate us to reach new achievements. This event both celebrates and thanks everyone who’s adopted an animal, volunteered, attended a youth program or encouraged our work. We’re inspired by and grow stronger from their support.”
