Stephen Curry Wins ESPY for Best Record Breaking Performance
But he had to watch as LeBron James and the Cavaliers took home coveted awards.

Walnut Creek's own Stephen Curry won the ESPY Wednesday night for best record-breaking performance.
His 402 3-pointers in a single season, which topped his own previous mark of 286, was deemed better than any other record in any sport over the past year.

But while Curry repeated as MVP for the NBA, the Warriors failed to repeat as NBA champions. And Wednesday night, Curry had to sit and watch LeBron James win the Best Male Athlete Award, and the Cleveland Cavaliers took home the award for Best Team.
Perhaps tonight's awards ceremony fueled Curry's desire to retake the NBA crown even more.
