Swan's Fine Books In Walnut Creek Having A Sale To Prep For Move
Swan's Fine Books in Walnut Creek is having a huge sale as it prepares to move to a new location close to Broadway Plaza.

WALNUT CREEK, CA -- Swan's Fine Books in Walnut Creek is having a huge sale as it prepares to move to a new location close to Broadway Plaza in the coming months.
The book shop is staying in Walnut Creek, but will move from it's current location at 1381 Locust St. and heading across the downtown area into the old train station, 850 S. Broadway, Suite A, which was mostly recently the home of Vic Stewart’s now closed restaurant. Renovations of the site into a retail location are in progress.
"Swan’s Fine Books has seen an increase in online orders, but a decrease in sales in our physical retail shop," proprietor Laurelle Swan explained to Patch. "We believe the move close to Broadway Plaza will make it more convenient for shoppers to find us, with the added benefit of there being parking both on-site and across the street in the garage behind the Macy’s building."

Because the store is moving into a somewhat smaller space, she said, Swan’s Fine Books will concentrate on higher-end books: the rare and collectible books, which will range in prices from $50 and up.
"In order to facilitate the move, and to move the books we currently own that are priced at less than $50, we will be having a sale on the books in our shop that are priced at less than $50," she said. " The sale will be progressive over the next three months: during October, books priced less than $50.00 will be 30% off; in November, those same books will be 50% off, and in December they will be 70% off – which should help bring joy to holiday shoppers."

"As the proprietor, I know that we have many wonderful books priced less than $50 that need new homes – these are not 'remainder' or damaged books; in fact, many are either good, vintage books or are fairly new," she said. " They simply do not fall into the new mission of our shop, so we hope that by offering these generous discounts the surrounding communities will be encouraged to come in and browse."
