Traffic Alert For I-880: Warriors, A's Both In Action Tonight

Traffic during rush hour could be slow this afternoon on I-880 near Oracle Arena as the Golden State Warriors and Oakland A's play games.

OAKLAND - Two simultaneous events will likely draw large crowds to neighboring Oracle Arena and Oakland Coliseum Monday night, clogging traffic on Interstate Highway 880 and packing BART trains.

Oakland sports fans will be busy as the Golden State Warriors kick off the NBA Western Conference Finals next door to an Oakland A's home game.

Game 1 of the Warriors' series against the Oklahoma City Thunder starts at 6 p.m. at Oracle Arena.

With MVP Stephen Curry back, the Warriors are looking to move on to their second consecutive appearance in the NBA Finals with a win in the seven-game series against the Thunder.

Meanwhile, the struggling Oakland A's will open a three-game series against the Texas Rangers at 7:05 p.m. The A's have only won three of their last 10 games and only five of their home games this season, falling to fourth place in the American League West.

Game 2 of the Warriors' series will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The A's will wrap up the series with the Rangers that day, but their game will start at 12:35 p.m. and should be over well before the Warriors game.
