Tree Crashes Down On Walnut Creek House
No one was injured after the oak tree toppled during Thursday evening's strong winds
A large oak tree fell onto a home in Walnut Creek during the strong winds that blew through the area on Thursday evening.
Linda McDonald said the tree split down the middle about 6:40 p.m. and crashed onto her home on West Holly Drive.
No one was injured, but the tree did pierce the roof in several places. McDonald said a limb came through the ceiling in the kitchen and a skylight was taken out.
In addition, the gutters were knocked off on that part of the house and one of the limbs is resting against a large window.
The tree is also laying against a truck in the driveway.
McDonald said it sounded like an earthquake when the tree toppled.
She added she's glad it's not raining and joked the home may get a few extra skylights out of the incident.
